Paul will explain BT’s approach to Data Hubs for IoT applications. The approach provides an environment which makes it easy for data owners to share data sets without losing ownership or control and which supports the creation of new applications and services, by innovative developers. The prototype data hub deployed for Milton Keynes will be used as an example to demonstrate the concept

PERSONAL PROFILE - Ed
Ed has a passion for partner relationships & technology nurtured through working with international developers for two decades. Ed has a history of working with innovators & technology leaders. His early career was notable for producing multimedia for artists such as U2, Peter Gabriel, Douglas Adams & The Prodigy. He worked as Head of Developer Programs at Symbian, building the first app store, running developer activities globally & spearheading programmes such as Symbian Signed. Since then Ed has had a number of consulting & product roles with companies such as Shell, Nationwide Bank, IBM, Audi & The Rank Group – he has had particular involvement in developing future concepts in both retail & industry, devising & deploying mobile & smart infrastructure projects particularly in the construction/utilities sector. Ed currently supports the community of professional developers & startups working on IoT & Wearables solutions using MediaTek solutions & helps bring their ideas to market. MediaTek is a pioneering fabless semiconductor company, and a market leader in cutting-edge systems on a chip for wireless communications, HDTV, DVD/Blu-ray and IoT.
