Innovation and R&D Grant Funding Workshop – Dec 1st

The Technology Strategy Board (TSB) invest in both collaborative and single company research and development activities to stimulate innovation across its key enabling technologies. The core technology areas covered by funding rounds, of this nature, include:
- Advanced materials
- Biosciences
- Electronics, Photonics and Electrical Systems
- High Value Manufacturing
- Information and Communications Technology
- Nanotechnology
- Responsive (open) mode applications – single company (Including New Grants for R&D)
To encourage the take-up of these R&D funding opportunities and additionally EU funding opportunities that exist, the EU & Innovation Funding Support Service team, Essex County Council and University of Essex are hosting an awareness-raising event in Colchester on the 1stDecember
Speakers from TUV NEL will provide details of the forthcoming funding rounds for collaborative R&D including a presentation on the practical support available to SME’s. The EU & Innovation Funding Support Service can provide up to 3 days of fully funded support to SMEs in the region to access R&D funding. One of the most popular schemes currently available for SME’s is the Grant for R&D funded by the TSB further details can be found athttp://www.innovateuk.org/content/competition/grant-for-rd-single-business.ashx . The next submission date is 5th January 2012. Further details on participation will be discussed at our event.
Speakers from University of Essex will talk about funding for innovation through Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and the University’s aspiration for the Knowledge Gateway, its research park, to be a real focus for future collaboration with businesses looking to access its world class research expertise.
We also have a Case Study session where Cyberalpha Ltd, a technology start-up company, will share their knowledge and experience of securing R&D funding.
The event is free and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
