FREE Virtual British Science Week 8th – 12th March 2021

February 10, 2021

For: Parents, students, teachers, family and friends

Adastral Park places a huge focus on the next generation of technologists – hosting around 8,000 school children each year, offering a free programme of stimulating events, virtual learning resources and working with global universities, to bring exciting careers in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Maths) to life.

In March, we are bringing Virtual British Science week to you – for FREE!

5 days – 5 themes

Monday 8th March – Cyber Security

Tuesday 9th March – Smart Cities

Wednesday 10th March – Creative Media

Thursday 11th March – Drones

Friday 12th March – Health & Sports Science

Each day a new theme will be launched at our dedicated web pages where you’ll also find a short video by Lisa Perkins, Director of Adastral and Realisation, who gives an overview of what the week will bring.

Our regular hosts will introduce the theme of the day. Students, teachers and parents will be able to access videos exploring the theme and the cool technology that brings these themes alive.

An activity pack supports the week too!  Think Blue Peter!  Have a go at making a Cipher Wheel; create a Scratch Drone Game or design the ultimate athlete plus more! There is something for everyone to get involved in.

You can also join us each day for FREE, from 1345 – 1430 for a live Q&A session with the experts. These sessions will be run through a moderated MS Teams live stream – cameras and mics will be off – and questions will be moderated before appearing on the screen.  You can register to join each of the sessions at West Suffolk College’s website

Students can read supporting profile cards introducing them to the experts – a chance to learn about their qualifications; what they like best about their work, a fun fact plus more!

Our thanks to West Suffolk College; University of Suffolk, University of Manchester, Imperial College London, University of Bath and

Innovation Martlesham member, Muhdo Health, who have also produced fantastic videos and activities to support each day of British Science Week.

All of this amazing content will enhance our existing online virtual learning videos we have produced to support the school curriculum.

British Science Week is a fantastic opportunity to tap into young bright minds and a great way to explore key hot topics in a fun and engaging way.
