esri UK Join The Innovation Martlesham EcosystemFebruary 3, 2020
We are delighted to welcome Esri, the world leaders in geo-spatial technology (GIS) and location intelligence to our growing eco-system at Innovation Martlesham, located BT’s Research and Development facility housing over 130 high-tech companies. This will offer Esri a perfect place to demonstrate its latest innovations in its technology and share new ideas with like-minded companies.
Esri is the world leader in Geographical Information Systems offering the most powerful mapping and spatial analytics technology available. Since 1969, Esri has helped telecommunications customers unlock the full potential of data to improve operational and business results. Today, Esri software is deployed in more than 350,000 organisations including the world’s largest cities, most national governments, the majority of UK Telco’s and more than 4000 UK schools. Esri has over 45% global market share and engineers the most advanced solutions for digital transformation, IoT, and location analytics to create the maps that run the world.
“Esri is an exciting addition to our membership. They provide geo-tech (GIS) and location intelligence capabilities via their software platform called ArcGIS” says Head of IM Nicky Daniels. Esri UK has been a supplier to BT since 2007 for various disparate projects and now would like to showcase its huge investment (over $1 billion in the last 5 years) in its geo-spatial software platform to enable the delivery of asset optimisation, business transformation, new digital services, revenue growth and enhanced customer experience solutions to BT.
One major project Esri UK currently provides BT, is the EE ESN Coverage Availability Dashboard. This operational dashboard allows engineers in the Network Operation Centres (NOC) across the country to visualise the live status of the network and any planned works to ensure obligations to the Home Office are managed correctly and key performance indicators (KPI’s) for network coverage are upheld.
Esri also supports BT Labs in relation to fixed mobile convergence projects and the effects of electrical storms on the copper network. This geo-spatial analysis of BT’s network performance data, uncovered new insights which can be leveraged to significantly improve the performance of the network and ultimately the customer experience. “Joining Innovation Martlesham is an important step for Esri UK. We look forward to sharing the value that geo-tech can offer BT’s organisation, from optimising assets and creating operational efficiencies to delivering revenue growth.” said Stuart Bonthrone, Esri UK CEO.
