BT and IM’s Software Development Community Come TogetherDecember 2, 2015
Software Developers within BT and Innovation Martlesham (IM) came together for a full day of discussion, sharing and learning, looking at a variety of areas that they come up against in their day-to-day roles.
Kerry Buckley, BT and his colleagues coordinated the event and invited the Software Development Community based at Adastral Park to democratically create the agenda.
This event epitomises the ethos of the Innovation Martlesham cluster – of enabling like-minded people, co-located at the Park, sharing ideas and helping to stimulate new innovation.
Kerry was delighted with the response: “DevCon has been running for a few years and has proved a good way for BT developers to learn from one another. This year it’s been great to extend that to the IM cluster companies, to give us a wider perspective and encourage knowledge sharing in both directions between BT and the growing number of other software companies on site.”
Fil said: “The concept and power of Test Scripting was shared with me many years ago and the DevCon event has given me a great opportunity to pass on this knowledge to like-minded developers. Test Scripting has immeasurably improved the quality of my code and removed the anxiety I used to have that software I’d released might have some bugs”.
“I fully support developers coming together as a community to share stories, collaborate, and learn from each other. Having recently moved into IM, it’s a great opportunity to meet some of my BT neighbours and share my experience developing for mobile” says Paul.
Kerry is looking forward to next year’s event.
