Mark Abell specialises in advising upon the licensing and exploitation of technology and brands. He has 25 years experience of advising on all aspects of international and domestic transactions involving, inter alia, confidentiality agreements, IP assignments, licensing, manufacturing agreements, distribution agreements, consultancy agreements, know-how agreements and R&D agreements.
Mark is an expert advisor to the WTO and United Nations WIPO on Technology and Brand Licensing in developing countries, focusing upon all aspects of the exploitation of intellectual property in a number of sectors including electronics, the automotive industry, biotech, pharmaceuticals and clinical instruments. In this role he has advised the governments of many countries including China, India, Peru, Moldova, Venezuela and Singapore. Mark worked in a Japanese pharmaceutical company prior to joining FFW.
Mark is the author of a number of books and many articles on intellectual property including Intellectual Technology Transfers for Profit (Kluwer). He regularly lectures on the exploitation of intellectual property both in the UK and abroad.
Mark is a member of the American Bar Association Intellectual Property forum.
