Dr Nick Milner will talk about how brands open up the jaws of the sales pipeline, increase win rates and reduce costs. With experience of creating and developing tech brands including Concert, Azure, TechEast and Innovation Martlesham, Nick will talk about how to develop your brand to support sales and company valuation.Brands lawyer, Nellie Jackson, will focus on the practical considerations when choosing, building and protecting a company brand, product or service to help you stay one step ahead and avoid the not so obvious (but costly) pitfalls. Specific topics will include clearance searches, registering a trade mark and basic brand enforcement and maintenance strategies.

PERSONAL PROFILE - Nick Milner
Dr Nick Milner is the Managing Director at Milner Strategic Marketing Ltd. He has 30 years’ experience in the international telecoms and IT industry with Azure, BT, FirstMark Communications and Brightstar Nick has had significant strategy and marketing experience across a range of enterprises from small start-ups to companies listed on the London and Indian Stock Exchanges. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Marketors, a Chartered Marketer and a Chartered Psychologist. He won the Company of Marketors Mais Bursary for his study on Silicon Valley Marketing.
PERSONAL PROFILE - Nellie JacksonNellie has specialised in intellectual property law since 2000. Though her experience covers the full range of intellectual property issues (both contentious and non-contentious), Nellie has particular experience in relation to trade mark, design and copyright protection, global brand launches and restructuring, advertising regulation and multi-platform advertising clearance. Nellie also has experience in dealing with anti-counterfeiting actions and preparing commercial agreements relating to the development and exploitation of IP. She joined Birketts in January 2016 having spent the past 10 years at a leading IP firm in London
