"Billing and Charging – Not As Easy As You Think in a Digital World!”Paul's talk entitled "Real-Time Charging And How It Applies To The Digital Market Place" will detail how the billing requirements of telcos have evolved from being voice centric to the digital age where a vast number of digital products can be supplied with the customers expecting instance charges and notification of these charges. The required technology will be discussed as well as the necessary transformation that the telcos need to undertake to remain competitive against the increasing numbers of players in the digital market place. Will's and Anne's talk "Billing in the Digital World, Sounds Easy, Surprisingly Hard!" will focus the ongoing challenges in the billing. Anne will cover the “hidden” obstacles related to the billing. Will is going address the challenges to the fraud management function in ensuring fraudulent traffic is rapidly detected and managed - and never makes it to the bill. We will outline some of the key industry fraud risks and look at strategies being undertaken by telcos and the industry to address these risks.

PERSONAL PROFILE - Paul
Paul joined Matrixx Software, a Silicon Valley company supplying a leading edge digital commerce platform , in 2014 as Directory of UK Engineering to establish an engineering center to utilize local talent to expand Matrixx's global footprint. He has 25 years’ experience in Telecommunications, having been a member of another successful start-up, eServGlobal, part of which was acquired by Oracle in 2010. He's a passionate believer in the areas potential as a key technology hub with its legacy in research and innovation, and close proximity to the UKs other main technology centers. Away from technology Paul is a supporter of youth Rugby, as a coach and administrator, as well as playing in bands supporting local good causes.
PERSONAL PROFILE - WillWill Richards has worked in the Telecommunications industry for over 25 years, specializing in Fraud Management for the last 20 years. He has fulfilled a range of roles during this time including, operational management, product management, presales & consulting and has played a central role in the development and launch of a range of Revenue Management solutions. In 2008 Will received an outstanding achievement award from TUFF (Telecommunications UK Fraud Forum) for his contribution to Telecommunications Fraud Management in the UK and is now on their Board of Directors. Will has worked for Subex for over a decade and has provided consultancy and support to telecoms operators across 6 continents (still looking for a customer in Antarctica!).
PERSONAL PROFILE - AnneAnne Hill has worked in the Telecommunications industry for over 30 years. Her specialism is billing and accounting systems. In her time at BT, she successfully managed several large projects and spent her formative years in Billing 90s! Since then, she has fulfilled a wide range of roles including project management, systems analysis, architecture and design. She has played a central role in the development of ROC partner Management V10. Anne has worked with carriers across the globe providing consultancy, especially requirements analysis and gathering. Anne is Prince 2 qualified, holds an MBA but considers her greatest achievement to be supporting Sunderland FC with fortitude and stoicism.
