Dr Tim Whitley, MD Research & Innovation at Adastral Park cuts the ribbon with Karl Théeden, CEO of Transmode.

Transmode Systems held their office opening event in the Ross Building, on the Adastral Park campus – the location of their new office – on Wednesday 8th May, joined by BT executives and management, as well as representatives from other Innovation Martlesham companies.

A keynote address was provided by Transmode CEO, Karl Thedéen, on Transmode’s continued growth on solid foundations, and how the Transmode operating ethos can provide BT with a new partner – one able to challenge current ideas and, of equal importance, deliver a consistent supply model that aligns with BT’s ‘right first time’ strategy. Karl outlined why collaboration between BT and Transmode on optical network innovations would benefit both the organisations themselves and BT’s customers.

Karl Thedéen commented, “It was fantastic to join the Transmode BT Team at this event and to meet so many of BT’s senior executives and key strategic decision makers. We believe that Transmode has the right technology and business philosophy to enable the company to become a key partner to BT and to help BT with some of its unique challenges, as the company continues to evolve and grow what is already one of the most advanced networks in the world”.

The event was chaired by Steve Colvin, Transmode’s BT Account Director, who outlined why Transmode has adopted a committed long term proactive sales approach that positions them as an innovative challenger, offering creative propositions to solve niche network problems by being agile and adaptive.

This was followed by a visionary overview from Sten Nordell, Transmode’s CTO, which positioned Transmode’s unique Mobile Fronthaul and legacy SDH service migration technologies, both of which triggered interest among the attendees. The former provides a complimentary solution to BT’s Mobile backhaul when LTE technologies are deployed, while the latter addresses the challenges associated with maintaining revenues and services during legacy network migration. The Transmode SDH Migration solution offers BT a possible answer to this particular challenge.

Finally, to demonstrate the proactive nature of the BT Account team, Richard Horton, Senior Sales consultant overviewed the four current propositions the Transmode team were developing for BT.
