Globally Recognised ISO Certification For UK Technology CompanyAugust 8, 2016
Coderus Limited, the mobile application and software development company based in Innovation Martlesham, Ipswich and Cambridge, has been awarded the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 certification for quality and control.
Aligning Coderus with globally recognised and respected quality management standards, the ISO 9001 award has been gained following a six month process that started in December 2015.
Published in September 2015, ISO 9001:2015 is the latest iteration of the flagship quality management standard laid out by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO).
With over 1.1 million certificates issued worldwide, ISO 9001 is a widely sought-after accreditation. It was developed to help organisations to demonstrate the consistent high quality of their products and services. The standard also acts as a tool to streamline processes and to make them more efficient and effective.
Positioning Coderus within the marketplace, gaining ISO 9001 certification will enable the company to continue the growth of their global client base, and further highlights their philosophy to push the boundaries while adopting globally recognised and respected practices, while complementing their own.
In order to gain their ISO 9001 certification, Coderus was required to demonstrate effective and firmly established quality management systems, together with the culture and control to successfully deliver complex and multi-faceted software development projects to the highest possible standards.
Coderus successfully presented to the auditors from IMS International, a modern and innovative business that adopts agile testing and development techniques for mobile app development and embedded technologies.
Mark Thomas of Coderus said: “We’re delighted to have achieved our ISO 9001 certification and I’m extremely proud of the team here who have worked hard to make it happen and within the timescales we set to achieve this first time. We have an extremely solid quality management system and a programme of continuous improvement in place. The external auditor was very impressed with the quality of work across all of our services and has advised us to go straight to stage two of gaining the certification.”
Andrew Mills, founder of the ISO consultancy company Applied Risk Management Ltd, (who are also part of the Innovation Martlesham cluster) commented: “It was a pleasure to work with the team at Coderus. The directors embraced the challenges and recognised the benefits of this ISO certification. The company already had very high standards and a culture for quality and control that perfectly complemented the assessment process.”
